Classic shirting construction is reworked through an almost fencing-inspired approach to tailoring, with a sharp pointed collar, concealed visual interruption of the button placket, and elongated cuffs with multiple-button closures.
Launched in 2009, adidas SLVR occupied an interesting space between performance sportswear and high-end contemporary fashion, prioritising minimal branding, refined construction and experimental functionality. Under designer Dirk Schönberger, the Spring/Summer 2012 collection explored fencing uniforms through asymmetric tailoring, buckled closures and streamlined silhouettes. This shirt sits directly within that aesthetic, making it a particularly interesting example of the line’s more directional menswear.
