Antique wool waistcoat, c. 1890–1910
Antique wool waistcoat, c. 1890–1910
Antique waistcoat, c. 1890–1910, with a strong late-Victorian / Edwardian character and an aesthetic comparable to Elena Dawson’s historical tailoring. Black tailored construction with a deep V-neck, elongated pointed fronts and six-button single-breasted closure. Features four front welt pockets, shaped waist, high armholes and external adjustable waist straps with metal buckles. Contrasting satin-like black back with central seam and cream interior lining with internal pocket. The pointed silhouette, exposed adjustment hardware and slightly irregular construction give it the feel of an authentic historical garment rather than a modern reproduction.
