A highly rare pair of Carol Christian Poell boots, constructed in beautifully aged, organically treated grey leather with an exceptionally tactile, almost oxidised appearance. The upper is defined by complex curved seam lines that wrap around the heel, quarter and vamp, giving the boot an almost anatomical construction. A tightly woven, elasticated sock-like textile layer extends above the leather shaft, creating a distinctive contrast between the rigid, sculptural leather and the soft, fitted upper. The leather naturally stacks and collapses across the vamp and toe, producing deep horizontal folds and a beautifully worn, almost liquid silhouette when the boots are on foot.
