Extremely distinctive Elena Dawson jacket in heavy black 100% wool, built around a sharply deconstructed take on a tailored jacket. The body retains a structured single-breasted blazer construction with curved lapels, concealed/tonal buttoning, angled welt pockets and flap pockets, while the entire garment is deliberately left raw at the edges. The collar, lapels, cuffs and hem are heavily frayed, with loose fibres and hanging threads forming part of the design rather than conventional finishing. The construction is particularly striking from the back, where the jacket opens into irregular layered panels and a dramatic extended hem.
The defining feature is the enormous attached wool shawl/scarf, which extends from the upper back and collar into multiple oversized panels. It can be wrapped around the neck, draped over the shoulders, thrown across the body or allowed to hang freely, radically changing the silhouette depending on how it is worn.
