Exceptional threeASFOUR trousers with an almost architectural approach to pattern cutting. The body begins as a relatively clean, tailored trouser before completely transforming below the knee into an insane three-dimensional construction of overlapping, spiralling panels.
Multiple layers of denim wrap around each leg in concentric, irregular bands, creating huge sculptural volumes that project away from the body and fold back into themselves. The lower legs almost resemble fabric armour or articulated shells, with each panel independently shaping the silhouette. The construction is particularly impressive from the side, where the layered pieces create deep cavities and dramatic protrusions rather than simply sitting flat against the leg.
The waistband and upper trouser remain relatively restrained, making the extreme lower-leg construction even more striking. A genuinely unusual example of threeASFOUR’s approach to curvilinear pattern cutting, biomimicry and clothing as sculptural object — core elements of the New York collective’s design language.
